Para SABEK (Madrid, 1985) el color negro trasciende la realidad tangible de nuestra naturaleza física. La ausencia de color en la silueta de sus animales ha de entenderse como vacío y meditación. Las figuras animales de SABEK invitan al espectador a desasirse de la Realidad que le atrapa, esa Realidad que nos hemos autoimpuesto y que nos aleja de lo que naturalmente somos. Una realidad postiza que probablemente aceptamos con la única finalidad de satisfacer nuestro ego humano, o simplemente para aplacar el aburrimiento que nos provoca nuestra fácil existencia. SABEK nos invita a conectar con nuestro origen ancestral, a dar el paso definitivo y valiente de entrar en sus negras siluetas animales y vaciarnos de todo aquello que nos imponemos y que no forma parte de nuestra naturaleza. Nos invita a enfrentarnos a aquello que queremos escatimar a nuestra consciencia.
Para describir la experiencia de asistir a la visión de sus intervenciones murales en el espacio público, debemos hacer un esfuerzo interno de sinceridad. El catálogo animal de SABEK en los muros de todo el mundo muestra una serie de entes espirituales que aparecen en el territorio urbano para ofrecernos el nexo perdido con nuestro origen animal.
Un origen animal que hemos olvidado y que si no recuperamos podemos ponernos en peligro de desaparición, ya que es la avaricia humana la que está llevando todo el equilibrio natural al desastre. Un vagar sin rumbo cuyo obvio final nos ocultamos pensando que no somos responsables de lo que ocurre.
Por tanto, en el trabajo de SABEK, El negro es entendido como el color que lo une todo, ya que este color mantiene en su materialidad la energía que capta del entorno. Una energía que se adapta, y que en su dinamismo afronta las adversidades con rabia y lucha. Esta energía conecta el pasado con el presente y el futuro, lo explícito y lo oculto, la esencia humana olvidada con su ancestral origen animal.
No se olviden: la especie humana es la única capaz de romper el orden natural en el que nada sobra, para lanzarse a sí misma a la desaparición.

For SABEK (Madrid, 1985) the colour black goes beyond the tangible reality of physical nature. The absence of colour that fills the silhouette of the animals he depicts is to be understood as a void, or meditation. Animal figures by SABEK invite the viewer to free themselves from the reality that traps them, a reality which we impose on ourselves, that distances us from what we naturally are. A false reality that we accept for the sole purpose of satisfying our human ego, or simply to deal with the boredom caused by our everyday existence. SABEK invites us to connect with our ancestral origin. He asks us to take the final and courageous step of entering his black animal silhouettes and emptying ourselves of that which is not part of our essential nature. His work is an invitation to face that which we would prefer to eliminate from our consciousness.
To describe the experience of facing the vision of his murals - these interventions in the public space – requires a sincere internal effort. The catalogue of SABEK’s animals on walls around the world show a series of spiritual entities that appear in urban territory to offer us the lost nexus of our animal origins.
We have forgotten these wild origins, and if we don’t reconnect with them we can threaten our own way of life. It is human greed that has led us astray, wandering aimlessly towards a fleeting end that we choose not to face, blinded by our ambitions while we deny the consequences of our actions. Human greed is undoing the balance within nature, and in turn, within ourselves.
Therefore, in SABEK’s work, black is understood as the colour that links everything together, given that this colour materializes the energy that it captures from the environment. This energy connects the past with the present and the future, the explicit with the implicit, the lost human essence with its ancestral animal origin.
We should not forget: the human species is the only one capable of breaking the natural order in which nothing is superfluous. Only humans can bring themselves to the brink of disappearance.
